club equus 2008 Member survey

The outbreak of equine influenza has made a huge impact on our industry and has crippled many businesses. Club Equus founders have been hit hard personally, with both parties losing their main source of income which often funded their passion...Club Equus.
With this in mind, Club Equus needs to take a new direction as we can no longer support personally a venture if there is little return.
We would like for you all to participate in this short survey. We need to make some decisions on the future of Club Equus.
Club Equus has struggled with recognition from the events and we as founders often finding ourselves forced into looking after large numbers of hospitality guests in order to have a presence at the events.
In the past negotiations have been long and awkward and comprimising for the club. We are now proposing that Club Equus becomes independent, ie - we pay events a fee to run as we please - members only.
It is of the upmost importance for us to get your views on the future of Club Equus. We ask that you take just a few moments of your time to complete this online feedback form.

  • Any other suggestions and comments. You may feel that there are other requirements that you would like. We would love to hear your suggestions but please keep in mind that they need to be realistic additions / changes as running costs are high.
    Eg; A tent with its fixtures is over $2500, there is approx 25% margin on tickets and wine sponsors are extremely hard to secure

Q: Why become a member?

A: To receive the latest news and information on anything and everything relating to the equestrian world, to enjoy first class organised hospitality with others that have similar interests and receive the benefits of a wide range of discount providers. Call our Information Centre between 1pm - 5pm Monday to Friday - see 'Membership' page.

Q: Does my annual membership include my entry into the Club Equus hospitality marquee?

A: Yes you are welcomed into the Club Equus marquee anytime for a hot cup of tea or coffee or maybe some bubbly to celebrate a win (or maybe commiserate!!!) but catering carries an additional cost which will be determined as each event draws closer. Members will receive preference and discounted entry if at all possible. Members are encouraged to bring guests into the marquee if catering has been pre-purchased, but otherwise marquee entry and entitlements are STRICTLY for members only. Family memberships are available so as the children can enjoy the experience as well as parents!!! Badges must be worn at all times and passes displayed at applicable events.

Q: Are you a non profit organisation?

A: We are hoping in the near future that our member contributions will cover our set up costs and administration costs. We also hope that that these contributions will move towards covering our advertising fees, running costs, and event organisation.
